Lisa Wood
Executive Director
Elkins-Randolph County Chamber
10 11th Street, Suite B
Elkins, West Virginia 26241
Lisa Messinger Wood is a native of Huntington, WV. After graduating with a B.S. from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a MScEd from Marshall University, Wood was an elementary regular and special education teacher for 25 years in Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Delaware. In 2016, she returned to WV when her husband, Chris, was named the 15th President of Davis & Elkins College. As D&E's First Lady, Wood volunteered hundreds of hours on behalf of the college to help D&E complete a ten-year, $100 million dollar fundraising campaign in June of 2018. That same year, she became heavily involved in downtown Elkins organizations and has continued working to create a vibrant community in Elkins and Randolph County. In the fall of 2018, she was hired as the Executive Director of the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber. Wood continues to follow her passion for helping to build a strong, vibrant community for the citizens of Randolph County, the student body at D&E, and the thousands of visitors who come to Elkins every year. Wood and her husband have two grown daughters. The Woods are blessed to have both daughters and their families living in Elkins as well. You will often find the Woods hiking the trails of central West Virginia with their miniature schnauzers, Hallie & Henry.
