Class of 2021

Erin Hurst
Executive Director
United Way of Greenbrier Valley
809 Jefferson Street South
Lewisburg, WV 24901
Erin Hurst is a West Virginia transplant from Georgia by way of New Jersey. She claims Mountain Mama as her home as she's lived here since she was 11. Erin graduated from Marshall University in 2009 with a BA in Public Relations and has worked in the non-profit sector ever since from a Relay For Life specialist in the Morgantown area with the American Cancer Society to now director of United Way of Greenbrier Valley in Lewisburg. Erin is chair of the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, even though she much prefers caramel. She started an Empty Bowls fundraiser in Greenbrier County, now on its fourth year, and even took pottery lessons so she could contribute handcrafted ceramic bowls to the hunger awareness event. Erin serves on the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, is a volunteer mentor with Communities in Schools, and is the chair of Generation Greenbrier Valley. In 2017 Erin was selected to The State Journal's 40 Under 40 and also received the Spirit of Philanthropy Staff Leadership Award from Philanthropy West Virginia for her work in flood recovery. Erin is a certified yoga instructor who teaches a ridiculously fun and incredibly inclusive class on Thursdays, the best day of the week in her opinion. She enjoys a good rom-com, traveling, an excellent manicure, statement earrings, hiking with rescue pup Olive (full name: Olivia Newton Dog), and delicious meals prepared by anyone but her.
