Ansel Ponder is a proven marketing executive who has worked in both higher education and corporate environments. He has a passion for helping underserved communities, as evidenced by his work at Greater Appalachian Outreach, Inc. (TRIO Programs), where he served two underprivileged counties in southern WV. At Bluefield State University, Ansel currently serves as the VP of Marketing and is responsible for overseeing all marketing activities and developing and executing marketing strategies that align with the university's goals and objectives. Ansel's previous roles at Bluefield State include CMO, Admissions Counselor, and Interim Marketing Manager, where he developed and implemented successful marketing initiatives and built strong relationships with stakeholders. Before joining B-State, he worked as a Marketing Director at a Chick-fil-A Franchise where he gained experience in corporate strategy and increased their digital footprint and overall sales. Ansel is married with four children and credits attending WMU with introducing him to the love of his life. His career and personal life demonstrate his commitment to making a positive impact on others and his community.
